Quick Summary
The 149th Mission Support Group, Contracting Office (149 MSG/MSC), requires a nine-month Managed Print Services (MPS) bridge contract for the Texas Air National Guard (MNANG). This is a sole source determination for Cartridge Technology, LLC (CTI), valued at an estimated $48,240.00. The service is required by July 1, 2026, to prevent a lapse in mission-critical operations.
Purpose & Background
This special notice serves as a justification for a sole source award under FAR 12.102(a) for commercial services below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). The need for this bridge contract arose due to the urgent and unforeseen termination of the preceding DLA MPS contract with only one business day's notice, caused by an internal DLA funds transfer issue outside MNANG's control.
Scope of Work
Provide Managed Print Services, including the operation and maintenance of 32 essential Multi-Function Peripherals (MFPs) already installed and integrated within the TXANG's facilities. This ensures continuity of mission-critical printing, scanning, and copying capabilities.
Contract Details
- Type: Sole Source Bridge Contract (Special Notice)
- Duration: Nine months
- Estimated Value: $48,240.00
- Set-Aside: None (Sole Source)
- Service Start Date: July 1, 2026
- Published Date: June 17, 2026
- Place of Performance: DWG, TX
Basis for Sole Source Determination
Cartridge Technology, LLC (CTI) is deemed the only reasonably available source due to:
- Urgent Need: The abrupt termination of the previous contract left no time for a competitive acquisition.
- Incumbent's Unique Position: CTI was the incumbent, and their equipment (32 MFPs) is already installed and integrated.
- Continuity of Service: A new vendor would require weeks or months to remove existing equipment and install new, causing an unacceptable break in service. CTI can ensure immediate continuity.
Future Plans
This nine-month contract is a temporary bridge action. A fully competitive, long-term acquisition for Managed Print Services will be developed and solicited on the Government Point of Entry (GPE) in the future.
