This document provides responses to vendor questions regarding the solicitation, clarifying technical requirements and specifications for optics.

• ITAR/EAR Control: The item is NOT subject to ITAR or EAR controls.
• Laser System Use: The part will be used with a laser system (488 nm), but it is NOT an intra-cavity optic. Export is not planned.
• Surface 1 Coating Performance: The "Protected" coating is intended to prevent oxidation over time and can be either Protected Aluminum or Protected Silver, as long as the Rave requirement is met across the specified wavelength band and coated clear aperture.
• Part Type: The part is confirmed to be Plano/Plano.
• Wedge/Parallelism: The wedge or parallelism is 0.1 mm over the full diameter (0.014 degrees of wedge).
• Coated Surfaces: Only surface 1 shall be coated, as stated in the SOW.
• Coating Application: The government (NASA) is not applying or curing any coatings; this is the responsibility of the vendor. The vendor needs to understand the end-user's oven capability and temperature limits for thermal curing.
• Performance Testing: The SOW only specifies reflectivity measurements (Rave). No other environmental, abrasion, or laser durability testing is required.

Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This solicitation is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a 406.4 mm (16") diameter flat mirror intended for use in an optical alignment station. The government requires a quantity of two mirrors with specific technical specifications, including inspection reports certifying performance. The vendor will be responsible for material sourcing, fabrication, inspection (figure, microroughness, coating), and delivery to NASA MSFC.

• Edge Chamfers: 1-2 mm TYP @ 45°

• Edge Finish: 220 grit or finer

• Marking: Laser etched on barrel (XX-YYY format)

• Packaging: Pet-G package within Pelican Case (or comparable)

• Inspection Reports: Required to certify performance.
