Quick Summary
The Department of the Navy, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, has issued a Presolicitation for a POD EXHAUST COVER (NSN 1R-1680-LLF02N788-P8, REF NR 24D300033-1001, QTY 1 EA). This is a proposed sole-source contract action under FAR 6.302-1, as the item is flight critical and requires Government source approval. Only previously approved sources have been solicited.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for one (1) POD EXHAUST COVER, designated as a commercial/nondevelopmental/off-the-shelf item. Delivery is FOB Origin. Due to the item's flight-critical nature and insufficient technical data for full and open competition, Government source approval is mandatory prior to contract award.

The Government reserves the right to proceed with award based on Fleet support needs if new source approval is delayed.
Additional Notes
The Government is not using FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) for this solicitation, but interested parties may identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice.
