Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force's AFLCMC Operational Contracting Branch at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, is conducting a Sources Sought for the 2026 Air Force Marathon. This market research aims to identify potential sources capable of providing various supplies and services, as detailed in the attached Statement of Work (SOW). The government seeks capability packages to inform its acquisition strategy, including potential small business set-aside decisions. Responses are due by July 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM ET.
Purpose
This Sources Sought is for market research only, not a solicitation. Its primary goal is to identify qualified vendors, including all small business categories (SB, 8(a), HUBZone, EDWOSB, WOSB, SDB, SDVOSB), for race week support for the 2026 Air Force Marathon. The information gathered will help determine if any future solicitation will be a full and open competition, a total small business set-aside, or a set-aside for a specific small business program. A small business set-aside decision has not yet been made.
Scope of Work
The requirement covers race week support for the 2026 Air Force Marathon (September 13-20, 2026), including the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and 1K events. Key areas of support include:
- Portable Water Tanks: Provision of 55 tanks (min 125 gallons each) with potable water for hydration stations.
- Fencing: Supply and setup of 19,000 linear feet of steel fence panels.
- Golf Carts/UTVs: Provision of various golf carts, UTVs (including ambulance style, flatbed, and towing capabilities), and a 7k Telehandler.
- Light-carts, Generators, Material Handling Equipment: Supply of 45 light tower carts, 17 3KW generators, a SkidSteer Bobcat, forklifts, and a Telehandler.
- Audio/Visual: Professional-grade A/V systems for start/finish lines, including audio for five zones, video screens, and multiple camera positions.
- Logistics Operations Support: 19 logistics personnel to manage course setup, finish line operations, incident command, and clean-up. The anticipated Period of Performance is one base year and four one-year option years, covering the 2026 through 2030 Marathons.
Response Requirements & Compliance
Interested vendors must submit a capability package (maximum 5 pages) demonstrating their ability to meet the SOW requirements. Submissions must include:
