Quick Summary
The USDA Forest Service is seeking a Firm-Fixed Price contract for its 2026 membership in the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). This is a sole-source acquisition for an unrestricted requirement, with quotes due by March 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM ET.
Opportunity Details
This combined synopsis/solicitation (RFQ) aims to secure the U.S. Forest Service's membership in IUFRO for the calendar year 2026. The government anticipates a sole-source award to IUFRO, as it is identified as the only organization offering this specific membership. The acquisition is unrestricted, and all responsible sources may submit a quotation, though only authorized membership providers of IUFRO will be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 813920 (Professional Organizations) with a small business size standard of $23.5 Million.
Scope of Work
The primary objective is to fund the Forest Service's membership in IUFRO, a non-profit, non-governmental organization. This membership allows Forest Service employees to actively participate in, influence, and direct global research across all fields of forest science. It leverages IUFRO's extensive network of 15,000 scientists from 630 member organizations to foster research aligned with the Chief's priorities, including forest management, silviculture, operational safety, forest products, bioenergy, and forest policy and economics. No specific technical requirements beyond the membership itself are outlined, and no deliverables are expected, as the benefit is participation and leadership in research.
