Quick Summary

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) has issued a Presolicitation indicating its intent to award a sole source contract to Fairbanks Morse, Beloit, WI, for Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) Global Repair Services for US Navy Submarines. This is a follow-on procurement, and the Government anticipates an award in the 3rd quarter of fiscal year 2026.

Purpose & Scope

This requirement is for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) services to address high failure rates of Fairbanks Morse Opposed Piston (FMOP) engines on US Navy Submarine EDGs. The contractor will provide damage assessment, failure analysis, shipboard and in-shop maintenance and repair, and emergent technical support for EDG diesel engines and support systems. This includes engine overhaul, refurbishment, major repairs (e.g., crankshaft, power assembly, block repairs), lube oil system flushes, and lifecycle maintenance. Services are applicable to SSBN/SSGN 726 Class, SSN 688 Class, and SSN 21 Class EDGs.
