Sources Sought Notice

This notice seeks sources for the production of .338 Norma Magnum (NM) Anti-Materiel Precision Ammunition for the U.S. Army's Mk22 Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR) platform. The goal is to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality precision ammunition.

• Ammunition must meet Military Detailed Specification MIL-DTL-XM1224.

• Cartridge case must be steel or brass, capable of functioning reliably at 85-90 ksi chamber pressures without imparting additional rearward force or extraction force compared to standard 62ksi brass cases.

• Penetrator must be Class III Tungsten Heavy Alloy (WHA).

• Ammunition must be compatible with the Mk22 rifle.

• Must demonstrate an average extreme spread of less than 1.0 Minute of Angle (MOA).

• Offerors without a validated high-pressure case design are responsible for verifying their design at their own expense.

• The government is seeking sources for Fiscal Year (FY) 28-33 requirements.

• A single Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is contemplated.

• Estimated annual production: 600,000 to 1,500,000 cartridges.

• Initial delivery required 120 calendar days after award at a rate of 50,000 per month.

• The government will not pay for submitted information.

• No License: This NDA does not grant any license, and no warranties are provided regarding the Data's safety, suitability, or intellectual property status.
• Consequences: Unauthorized use or disclosure may result in administrative, civil, or criminal remedies.
• Appendix: Specifies the Data includes "Large Caliber Programs, Funding, Drawings, and Requirements" for .338 Norma Magnum Anti-Material Precision Ammunition.
