- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The Bureau of Reclamation, Technical Service Center (TSC) is conducting market research via a Sources Sought to identify qualified firms capable of providing a large-format, commercial-grade stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer. This effort aims to find alternatives to the 3D Systems SLA825 Dual-Laser SLA Printer for the Hydraulics Laboratory. Responses are due May 14, 2026.
Scope of Work
The Government seeks information on SLA printers meeting specific minimum requirements:
- Extra-Large Build Volume: Approximately 32.7" × 32.7" × 21.6" (or equivalent) to fabricate large hydraulic model components in a single print, avoiding segmentation and associated risks.
- Dual-Laser SLA Print Architecture: At least two independent lasers for high-throughput print speeds, reducing long print durations.
- Commercial-Grade Dimensional Accuracy: Consistent high-precision components suitable for physical hydraulic model testing where tolerances are critical.
- Heavy-Duty, High-Utilization Operation: Suitable for weekly or near-continuous use in a production-oriented environment.
- Integrated Support Ecosystem: Availability of compatible resins, wash/cure systems, maintenance services, and OEM technical support.

Evaluation
Responses will be used to determine if additional responsible sources (manufacturers or authorized distributors) exist that can meet all minimum requirements. If no additional capable sources are identified, the Government may proceed with a brand-name procurement. This is for market research only and does not constitute a solicitation.
Additional Notes
Interested firms must submit a capability statement detailing company information, manufacturer authorization (if applicable), detailed product specifications demonstrating compliance with all minimum requirements, product literature, past performance, and estimated delivery lead times. Responses that only partially meet requirements will not be considered. Questions should be sent to Aaron Valdez at aaron_valdez@ios.doi.gov.
