This is for market research purposes only and is NOT a solicitation. The VA is seeking information on potential qualified sources capable of providing specific Honeywell-based barcode scanners to support the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) initiative. Responses will help the Government make future acquisition decisions. Responses are due March 9, 2026, by 11:00 a.m. Central Time.

Scope of Work

The requirement is for Honeywell-based Xenon Ultra 1962H Cordless Scanners (697 units) and Honeywell-based Xenon 1960H Corded Scanners (574 units). These scanners must be compliant with the VA EHRM initiative and pre-programmed to VA Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) Defaults. Key salient characteristics include FIPS 140-2 compliance, camera-based area imaging, support for ISBT 128 blood bank standards, omnidirectional scanning, specific focal distance, scan area illumination, adjustable audible alerts, low battery indicators, weight limits, transmission range, IP seal rating, and drop resistance. They must also be compatible with CDC-approved disinfection methods. Cordless scanners require a charging base, hands-free mode, and a battery life exceeding 2000 recharge cycles with less than 3 hours recharging time. Corded scanners need a USB connection and a cord length of at least 3 meters. The vendor must provide technical support, a one-year warranty, and electronic copies of operator manuals, service manuals, troubleshooting guides, and parts lists.
