Notice of Intent (NOI)

This Notice of Intent (NOI) informs industry contractors of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's (FWS) intent to award a sole source, firm-fixed priced contract to Caterpillar Inc. for the Compact Track Loader with Forestry attachments (CAT 275XE). This action is for commercial services under NAICS code 333120 and will be awarded under Authority, FAR 13.501(a)(b), Simplified Acquisition procedures.

• Caterpillar (CAT 275XE) is preferred due to its hydraulic cooler, operator controls, and manufacturer support.

• Standardization with three existing units within the Wildland Fire Branch will improve operational efficiency, safety, and reduce on-site delays.

• Minimizes downtime for repairs and parts, crucial for fire operations.

• Anticipated work to begin after receipt of the delivery/purchase order.
