Quick Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Coatesville VA Medical Center, is conducting market research through a Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) for the replacement of two therapeutic patient bathing systems. This RFI aims to identify capable sources for the purchase, delivery, and potential installation of new units that meet specific salient characteristics and fit within existing facility constraints. Responses are due by March 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

Purpose

This notice is solely for market research and planning purposes. The VA seeks to gather information from industry to determine if the draft Statement of Work (SOW) and Attachment 1 provide sufficient detail for accurate quoting, if businesses can provide bathing systems meeting the listed salient characteristics, and if installation services pose a limiting factor. • Purchasing, delivering, and potentially installing two new therapeutic patient bath units.
  • New units must meet detailed salient characteristics outlined in the draft SOW and Attachment 1.

  • Disposal of all trash and debris off VA property.
  • Provision of product demonstration and training for VAMC staff, along with user and technical manuals.

Key Requirements / Salient Characteristics

Based on the draft SOW, new units must:

  • Fit within a 90"x33"x41" (LxWxH) space.
  • Accommodate patients weighing at least 353 lbs and be compatible with patient lifts (maxi move).
  • Feature a control panel with digital display, scalding protection, temperature monitoring, and a shower wand with a temperature-regulated mixing valve.
  • Have a side or roll-down door for wide access.
  • Include a contoured base serving as a seat with hydromassage capabilities.
  • Provide a minimum 1-year warranty covering parts and service.
  • Allow VAMC staff access to internal hardware for maintenance.
  • Be installable within 1 day per unit, without significant plumbing or construction.
  • Allow for urgent patient removal by opening the door while in use.
  • Have replacement parts separately available for purchase.
