Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

The Coatesville VA Medical Center requires the replacement of two existing therapeutic patient bathing units within the Community Living Center (CLC).

• Purchase, delivery, and installation of two new therapeutic patient bathing units.

• Disconnection of plumbing and electricity for two existing ARJO bath units (Freedom Bath II).

• Installation must fit within existing spaces (90”x33”x41” L x W x H) without significant plumbing or construction.

• Installation of each unit must be completed within 1 day.

• Removal and disposal of all trash and debris resulting from unpacking and installation, off VA property.

• Provide a product demonstration and staff training upon completion.

• Provide user and technical manuals.

• Patient Weight Capacity: Minimum 353 lbs.

• Water Pressure: Fully functional on 55 psi; must include pressure reducing valve if higher pressure is needed (max 80 psi).

• Safety & Accessibility: Accommodate patients with lower body mobility issues; safe support for sitting; side or roll-down door for wide access; compatible with patient lifts (maxi move).

• Control Panel: Digital display, scalding protection, monitors/controls water temperature, includes shower wand with temperature-regulated mixing valve.

• Tub Features: Contoured base with hydromassage function.

• Warranty: Minimum 1-year warranty covering defects, parts, and service from installation date.

• Maintenance Access: Means for VAMC staff to access internal hardware.

• Urgent Removal: Door must open while in use and filled with water.

• Replacement Parts: Must be separately available for purchase.

• Delivery Location: Freight on Board Destination to Coatesville VA Medical Center CLC – Warehouse Building 13, Black Horse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.

• Installation: To be scheduled with the VA Program Manager after receipt of units at Building 138, Rooms 127 and 227.

• Brand Name or Equal: Cascade Alcove Spa (model 361910-1A) by Penner Patient Care is acceptable; equivalent alternatives must meet all salient characteristics.

• Security: Contractor workers must sign in/out and possess a valid state driver’s license or state ID for facility access.

Sources Sought / Request for Information

This notice is a Sources Sought and Request for Information (RFI) for market research purposes only. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Coatesville VA Medical Center requires the replacement of two existing therapeutic patient bathing systems (ARJO bath units - Freedom Bath II). This includes disconnecting the old units and purchasing, delivering, and potentially installing two new units that meet the outlined salient characteristics. The new units must fit within the existing space without significant plumbing or construction modifications, as existing plumbing cannot be relocated.
