- Marking: Permanent marking of each unit with material symbol "K", manufacturer's symbol, and lot number.
- Mercury-Free: Strict adherence to mercury-free material and manufacturing processes, with specific testing and approval protocols for any exceptions.
- Quality Assurance: Implementation of a Quality Inspection System compliant with MIL-I-45208 or ISO 9001 and NCSL Z540.3 or ISO 10012. A written Quality Inspection and Test Plan (CDRL: DI-QCIC-81110) requires Government approval prior to production.
- Production Lot Testing: Comprehensive testing including 100% dimensional inspection, destructive and nondestructive mechanical properties testing (Tensile, Yield Stress, Wedge Tensile, Hardness), and Nondestructive Visual/Liquid Penetrant Inspection Testing per MIL-DTL-1222 and NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-AS-GIB-010/271.
- Reporting & Approvals: Submission of a Production Lot Testing/Inspection Report (CDRL: DI-NDTI-80809B) and a NDT Visual/Liquid Penetrant Testing Procedure (CDRL: NAVSEA TECH PUB T9074-AS-GIB-010/271), both requiring Government approval prior to shipment or commencement of production, respectively.
- Configuration Control: Adherence to MIL-STD-973 (or EIA-649) for Engineering Change Proposals, Deviations, and Waivers.
- Packaging: Preservation, Packaging, Packing, and Marking in accordance with MIL-STD 2073.
