The questions are categorized into three main areas:

• All Products: Inquiries about general product features, customer satisfaction, development pipeline, use of AI, camera/monitor specifications (size, features), manufacturing origin, supply chain experiences, product recalls, and warranty details.
• Technical Information: Detailed questions on monitor display types, response times, refresh rates, resolution, contrast ratios, color depth, magnification ranges, camera resolution, working distances, refresh rates, power controls, auto-focus capabilities, magnification and brightness controls, lighting features, true color viewing, color select modes, enhanced contrast, reverse polarity, and XY tables.
• Multi-distance viewing devices: Specific questions regarding camera distance capabilities (self-viewing, near, intermediate, distance), camera positioning flexibility relative to the monitor, and adjustable working distances.
• Services: Questions related to delivery and setup timeframes (standard and expedited), same-day service capabilities, guaranteed inside delivery, warranty replacement processes, and return shipping procedures.

This document serves as a critical pre-solicitation tool. Vendors should review these questions to understand the government's specific areas of interest and concern regarding video magnifier technology and associated services. The questions highlight key technical specifications, performance expectations, and service requirements that are likely to be incorporated into future solicitations. Responding to these questions or preparing to address them will help vendors align their offerings and proposals with the government's needs.

Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This is a Special Notice for information and planning purposes only, not a formal RFQ or RFP. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Health Administration, Prosthetics Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) has a need for Desktop Video Magnification devices for visually impaired Veterans. The goal is to establish a reliable supply source for VA Medical Centers nationwide.

• The VA is seeking Desktop Video Magnifiers for individuals with vision impairments.

• Interested in devices with monitor sizes ranging from 11" to 27".

• Vendors should demonstrate 3-4 desktop device models, including those with enhanced features like multi-distance viewing capability (self-viewing, near, intermediate, distant).

• Bring literature for additional sizes or distinct products not physically demonstrated.

• Include any accessories (remote controls, mounts, cases, X-Y tables) and various camera/mounting configurations.

• Not specified in this notice.

• The government will host an Industry Day to determine interest and capability.

• Vendors must bring 3-4 device models for physical demonstration and present key features.

• Vendors will have 1 to 1.5 hours for their oral presentation.

• Supporting literature for demonstrated and additional models is required.

• Specific requirements are not yet finalized.

• This notice is to determine interest from potentially qualified Businesses (All Sizes).

• An Industry Day will be held; details on in-person vs. virtual attendance will be provided.

• Vendors must submit Industry Day requests by November 20, 2025, 1:00 PM EST.

• Industry Day request information includes Company Name, POC, Social-Economic Status, Business Size, Product Listing, FSS Contract details (if applicable), and Current Commercial Market Price.
