Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office 23, has issued a Notice of Intent to award a brand-name-only, firm-fixed-price contract for Vocera badges and accessories for VISN 23 Medical Centers. This action is justified under FAR 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source) as other brands would require a complete equipment swap-out. This is not a request for competitive quotes.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for the procurement of Vocera brand badges and accessories. These items are essential for the existing Vocera communication system within VISN 23 medical centers. The VA has determined that using any other brand would necessitate an entire replacement of current equipment, making Vocera the best value.
