Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 628th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Charleston (JB CHS), is conducting a Sources Sought for market research purposes. This is not a solicitation. The Air Force seeks capability statements from potential sources for a VAC-CON 3-Stage Blower (Vacuum Compressor) Assembly, OEM part number 711-14516S3 or equal, to repair a 2018 Freightliner VAC-CON Versatile Sewer Maintenance Vehicle. Responses will help determine potential set-asides or competition restrictions for a future solicitation. Responses are due by April 13, 2026, at 5:00 PM ET.
Requirement Details
The requirement is for one new, unused, and fully assembled 3-Stage Blower Assembly, ready for installation without additional fabrication or modification. It must be engineered for compatibility with VAC-CON vacuum truck systems requiring part number 711-14516S3 or equal, meeting all original manufacturer performance specifications for airflow, pressure, and operational efficiency. The assembly must include all OEM-specified or equal components (housing, blower stages, internal components, seals, bearings, mounting points, and hardware) and be manufactured to VAC-CON's original engineering standards. A standard OEM warranty or equal, covering defects in material and workmanship, is required. The contractor must certify the part is new, not remanufactured, refurbished, or aftermarket.
Submission Instructions
Interested vendors must submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet the requirement, including past performance related to 3-Stage Blower Assemblies and their support for NAICS 423830 (Industrial Machinery and Equipment Merchant Wholesalers). Vendors must also complete and submit "Attach_Contractor ResponseForm002," which requests company information, GSA contract details (if applicable), and answers to specific questions regarding alternative parts, authorized distributor status, socioeconomic status, commercial practices, and government contract experience. All correspondence via email must use the subject line "628CONS0047SourcesSought." Only .pdf files are allowed as attachments.
Purpose & Outcome
This Sources Sought is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Responses will facilitate the decision-making process regarding whether a future solicitation will be full and open competition or set-aside for small businesses. Vendors will not be reimbursed for response costs and will not be individually notified of assessment results. Do not submit a response if you do not intend to submit an offer for a formal advertisement.
