Scope of Work
The VA is seeking 27 "Empressa Nursing Beds" (brand name or equal) that meet specific salient characteristics. These include a low height (3.9'' to 31.5'' adjustable), long side rails, fall prevention and infection control features, nurse-friendly controls, and integrated nurse call system compatibility. Key features required are a 10" low deck, egress system, exit detection, BodyMove™ profiling, and adjustable length (80'' to 84''), with an optional width extension for bariatric residents. Mattress specifications include a firm edge, 360 coverlet, non-skid bottom, evacuation straps, heel gradient, and 1" visco elastic foam. Additional items required per bed are a Head & Footboard Kit, Wall Protection Bar, Width Adjustment Kit, two Standard Bed Lever Assist Bars, and one High Safety Mat. Training for Clinical, Environmental Management Systems, and Bio Medical staff is also required, to be completed within 40 calendar days of award. A five-year frame warranty and one-year electronics warranty are mandatory. Domestic (U.S. manufactured) content is preferred.
