The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of Other than Small Businesses and/or Small Businesses, including VIP-Verified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339112.
This sources sought notice is to determine interest and capability of authorized vendors able to fulfill the following requirement:
The Hines VA Medical Center is requesting the following: BED EXTENDERS (STRYKER) BRAND NAME OR EQUAL
Item 0001: KIT, BED EXTENDER w/MATT-WHITE Quantity 70
Shall be able to connect to and extend the length of existing S3 Stryker inpatient beds currently at the hospital. Compatibility: Must be compatible with S3 Stryker inpatient beds currently in use at the facility. Integration: Must easily connect to and extend the length of S3 Stryker beds without the need for modifications to the existing bed frame. Adjustable Length: Must allow for adjustable length to accommodate various patient needs, typically extending the bed from 76 inches to 84 inches. Weight Capacity: Must have a minimum weight capacity of 600 lbs to safely support patients without compromising stability. Attachment/Detachment: Must be easy to attach and detach from the bed frame without specialized tools, enabling quick setup and removal. Locking Mechanism: Must feature a secure and reliable locking mechanism to prevent accidental disengagement once attached. Surface Material: Surface material must be hypoallergenic, easy to clean, and disinfect to maintain high hygiene standards and reduce infection risk. Entrapment Prevention: Design must prevent entrapment risks by ensuring no gaps between the extender and the bed when properly installed. Patient Comfort: Must provide a smooth and comfortable surface for the patient to facilitate easy repositioning and reduce the risk of pressure ulcers. Cushioning: Should include integrated padding or cushioning for additional patient comfort to prevent bed-related injuries. Durability: Constructed from high-durability materials to withstand frequent use and cleaning without significant wear. Ease of Transport: Designed to be lightweight and include handles or other features to facilitate easy transport between different units within the facility. Safety Standards: Must comply with all relevant safety and regulatory standards, including FDA, OSHA, and Joint Commission requirements. Maintenance: Should be low maintenance with easily replaceable parts to ensure long-term usability and cost-effectiveness.

Responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for set-aside consideration.
