Quick Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the NETWORK CONTRACT OFFICE 19 (36C259), is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice for a Patient Monitoring and Telemetry System for the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT. This is not a solicitation, but an RFI to identify qualified vendors and assess marketplace conditions. Responses are due by March 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM MST.

Scope of Work

The Salt Lake City VA Health Care System requires new patient monitoring equipment, software, and services to replace its existing system. The estimated requirement includes:

  • Patient Monitors: ICU (13), Anesthesia (14), Mid-Acuity (46), Telemetry (44), Transport (120), Low-Acuity (36)
  • Central Stations: 9 (plus 8 limited functionality displays)
  • Systems: Patient Monitor Management System (1), Software (1)
  • Ancillary: Cables (TBD), Disposables (TBD), Training & Education (1 JB), Installation (1 JB), Removal of Existing Equipment (1 JB)

The physiological patient monitoring solution must provide a 7-day full disclosure archive of patient vital records, 90-day alarm storage, and interface with the SLC VAHCS Clinicomp Clinical Information System (CIS). Vendors will utilize the existing VA patient monitoring network where possible, providing new cabling and upgrading/expanding wireless coverage as needed.

Key Requirements & Considerations

  • Brand Name or Equal: The VA anticipates soliciting this requirement as "Brand Name or Equal," with Philips (IntelliVue and Patient Information Center iX) identified as a potential benchmark. However, all brands meeting salient characteristics and the future Statement of Work will be considered.
  • Acquisition Type: Anticipated as a commercial supply acquisition under FAR Part 12, Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Items.
  • Place of Performance: George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center, 500 Foothill Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84148.

Submission Requirements

Interested and qualified vendors must submit the following information via email to Stephanie.Cahill@va.gov by the deadline:
