This solicitation is for the replacement of five (5) out of eight (8) existing portable Reverse Osmosis (RO) Machines for FY26. The current machines are approximately 10 years old and at the end of their operational lifecycle, leading to potential performance issues, increased maintenance, and downtime, which could disrupt dialysis treatments. The goal is to maintain water quality, ensure reliable operations, and comply with regulatory standards.

• Product: Portable RO machines capable of producing dialysis-grade purified water.

• Salient Characteristics:

  • Automated heat disinfection cycle (reaching and maintaining 185°F/85°C).
  • Production Capacity: 650 mL/min to 2600 mL/min.
  • Purification Performance: Reduce TDS to less than 10 ppm with a minimum 95% rejection rate.
  • Water Quality Compliance: Meet applicable AAMI/ANSI/ISO hemodialysis water standards.
  • Pre-Treatment: Support particulate reduction, chlorine/chloramine removal, and hardness control.
  • Alarms & Monitoring: Include alarms for conductivity, pressure, temperature, and water quality; at least one leak detector.
  • Portability: Weigh less than 100 lbs, with built-in handles and lockable casters.
  • Connections: Compatible with commonly used dialysis systems; adapters to be provided if needed.
  • Use and Application: Operate in ambient temperatures of 59°F to 86°F (15°C to 30°C) and humidity up to 80%; intuitive display/interface.
  • Compatibility: Must be compatible with common VA dialysis machines.
  • Regulatory Compliance: FDA-approved or CE certified; comply with AAMI/ANSI/ISO standards; meet VA medical device policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Minimum 2-year warranty on parts and labor; vendor to provide maintenance schedules, user manuals, and technical support.
  • Training: Provide training for VA clinical and technical staff.

• Deliverables: Portable RO machines meeting salient characteristics, delivery and installation, user manuals, maintenance schedules, technical documentation, training, warranty documentation, and compliance documentation.

• Contract Type: Firm-Fixed Price (FFP).

• Period of Performance: From purchase through delivery, installation, and completion of staff training.

• Place of Performance: Tucson VA Medical Facility.
