Quick Summary

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting a Sources Sought market survey to identify firms capable of providing inspection, recalibration, and repair services for data loggers used by the Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC Ann Arbor). This effort falls under NAICS code 334519ENV (Environmental Measuring Instruments). Responses are due by April 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST.

Scope of Work

The requirement involves comprehensive maintenance, repair, operations checks, and recalibration to factory specifications for existing GLSC hardware. Specific equipment includes:

  • 19 miniPAR loggers: Maintenance, repair, operations check, and recalibration (including reinstallation and testing).
  • 1 miniPAR logger: Maintenance, repair, operations check, inspection and repair/replacement of the circuit board and battery holder (as necessary due to damaged internal battery), and recalibration.
  • 1 miniDOT logger: Maintenance, repair, operations check, inspection and/or replacement of the scratched logger sensor window, and recalibration. The goal is to ensure equipment is tuned to factory specifications for accurate data collection.

Contract & Timeline

This is a Sources Sought Notice and not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The service contract must be completed and equipment returned to GLSC within 8 weeks of the date of award. Completion is recommended no later than May 5, 2026, to facilitate deployment and full-season data collection by May 15, 2026.

Eligibility & Submission

The USGS is seeking responses from a broad range of businesses, including Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise (ISBEE), SBA certified Small Business HubZone firms, 8(a) program participants, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business firms, Small Businesses, and Large Businesses. Firms should indicate their socioeconomic status. If insufficient interest is received from ISBEE, HubZone, 8(a), or SDVOSB firms, any future solicitation may be issued as unrestricted.

Interested firms must submit:

  1. Firm Name, Address, and Phone Number (including UEI NUMBER).
  2. A Capability Statement detailing recent (within the last three fiscal years) relevant performance history (similar projects, owner/contact info, email) and the capacity in which work was performed (e.g., prime, subcontractor).
  3. Firm's SIZE STATUS. Companies must have a UEI number and be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).

Response Due

All responses must be submitted via email to justice_pryor@ios.doi.gov no later than April 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST.
