Justification for Sole Source
The intent to sole source to Biomark, LLC (VAKI's representative) is based on the proprietary nature of the required components. Replacement parts must be Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) due to proprietary firmware and software. No alternate manufacturers produce compatible camera heads or system PCs that can integrate with the existing VAKI system without voiding support. Market research confirmed no equivalent products. Proprietary optical components, firmware locked to OEM hardware, and the need for OEM-certified installation, configuration, and support prevent competition.
Response Information
This is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement may submit a Statement of Capabilities. Submissions must be in writing (Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF) and provide clear evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Costs incurred in responding are the sole responsibility of the respondent. No telephone requests or offers will be honored.
