Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps

Quick Summary
The US Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research via a Sources Sought notice to identify qualified businesses capable of providing 4-channel Terminal Strip Interface Boards for seismic digitizer recorders. These boards are crucial for the Earthquake Science Center's National Strong Motion Network (NSMN) to interface digitizer-recorders with strong motion seismic sensors and enable upgraded recording systems. Responses are due April 16, 2026, at 3 PM PST.
Scope of Work
The required Terminal Strip Interface Board must:
- Function as an analog adaptor, routing sensor connector lines to a terminal strip.
- Supply +/- 12-volt differential power to older seismic sensors.
- Be compatible with Kinemetrics Multi-Channel Digitizer models (Granite, Basalt, and Obsidian).
- Plug into specific 26-socket (3-channel) and 15-socket (1-channel) mil-spec sensor connectors, with an approximate 2 7/8-inch on-center distance.
- Convert +12V from the digitizer to +/- 12 Volt differential power for the seismic sensors. The digitizers are unusable without this interface board.
