Scope of Work / Key Requirements

The requirement is for two (2) new laboratory centrifuges for the Hematology and Chemistry sections of the Philadelphia VA Medical Center's Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. This will be a one-time task order to procure the needed equipment.

Salient characteristics for the centrifuges include:

• Laboratory grade swing-out rotor centrifuges.
• Capacity for 13 X 75/100 mm and 16 X 75/100 mm tubes.
• Includes one centrifuge, one 90° swing-out rotor, four buckets, and adapters for both tube sizes.
• Spin speed up to 5000 RPM, capable of spinning up to 32 specimens at a time.
• Temperature control system with pre-cool function from -20 to +40°C.
• Features: Versa-Rotor™, all-steel construction, quiet operation, easy-lift lid with safety lock.
• A 5-year warranty.
• Dimensions: 16.5 X 18 X 23.6 inches.
• Delivery: 30 - 90 Days After Receipt of Order (ARO).

Eligibility / Set-Aside Considerations

While Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) are preferred, all capable contractors are encouraged to respond. SDVOSB/VOSB firms must include proof of their Vets First Verification. All small business firms must include proof of small business status via their Representations and Certifications. The market research will help determine the final acquisition approach, including potential socioeconomic set-asides.

Questions for Industry

Respondents are required to answer the following questions as part of their submission:

1. Identify any other companies owned (wholly or in-part) by the owners of this business who provide goods or services under the same or related NAICS codes.
2. Identify any other CVE-registered companies owned by the same owners, including certification type (SDVOSB/VOSB), Federal Identification Number, and state of incorporation for each.
3. Indicate if there are plans to respond to a solicitation with a Joint Venture, and if so, identify the companies involved and their ownership.
4. Confirm if the items are domestic end products (manufactured in the United States) as stated in FAR 52.225-1.
