Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO 21), intends to award a sole source, firm fixed-price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to Cepheid for molecular/testing reagents. These reagents will be used at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in North Las Vegas, NV. While the intent is sole source, all responsible sources are invited to submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for consideration.
Scope of Work
This IDIQ contract will procure various proprietary Cepheid test kits (reagents) for use with existing Cepheid GeneXpert DX instruments. The kits are essential for 24/7 STAT testing, requiring results within 60 minutes. Key reagents include those for detecting carbapenem resistance, Clostridium difficile, MRSA, Chlamydia trachomatis, Strep A, SARS-CoV-2, influenza A/B, RSV, and various vaginal pathogens. The VA owns the GeneXpert Infinity 48 module analyzer, and staff are trained on its use.

The sole source justification is based on proprietary rights, as the test kits are only available through the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Cepheid Inc., for use with existing VA equipment.
