Source Approval Requirements
This procurement is for an item requiring engineering source approval by the design control activity due to unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge held by approved sources. Offers from non-government-approved sources will be technically unacceptable. Distributors of approved sources must submit an authorized distributor letter.
New sources must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. Due to the item being flight critical, new source approval typically cannot delay award. Potential new sources must submit detailed information as outlined in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures (links provided in the original notice). Failure to provide required data or document previous submission will result in offers not being considered.

DFARS clause 252.209-7010 (Identification of Critical Safety Items) and DLAD clause 52.?-9004 (Product Verification Testing) are incorporated by reference.
