727 AMS Cargo Racking

Statement of Work (SOW)

To modify an existing 463L cargo rack system at Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, Air Freight Terminal, Bldg. 599, by adding rear X-bracing and rubberized pads to enhance safety and prevent damage.

• Fabricate and install 21 rear X-bracings on each cargo racking bay.

• Fabricate and install rubberized full-length pads (7ft 10 inches) on each support internal beam (totaling 63 pads).

• The current racking system measures 15ft 5 inches by 73ft and consists of seven bays over three levels (21 bays total).

• Bracing material should be galvanized steel of the same standard or higher.

• Installation is to be completed within 5 working days.

• Location: Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, Air Freight Terminal, Bldg. 599.

• Contractor is responsible for supervision, transportation, support equipment, power tools, materials/fixings, PPE, and labor.

• Cargo must be removed from racking during modifications.

• Method statement and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are required prior to work commencement.

• Contractor is responsible for removal of all packing materials and debris.

• Work hours are Monday-Friday, 0630-2300 local UK time, excluding US federal and UK bank holidays.

• Contractors require escort on/off base daily and must have valid picture identification for entry.

• Electric forklifts only are authorized for use within the warehouse; no diesel forklifts.

• Government will provide single-phase 240 voltage power and mains power within 2 meters of work areas. Government may provide cones to restrict access to work areas.

• Washrooms and toilets are available; contractor must provide all other tools and equipment.

• Contractor must comply with OPSEC requirements and report any mishaps or incidents within 24 hours.
