  • Affixing a nameplate with Unique Identification (UID) marking per drawing (80132) 15930 and MIL-STD-130.
  • Welding and welder qualifications must meet current AWS D1.2 standards.
  • Cleaning preparations in accordance with MIL-C-5541.
  • Assignment of serial numbers using the convention "contract#_no_dashes-000X".

First Article Testing (FAT)

A critical component of this solicitation is the First Article Testing (FAT).

  • Submission: One unit of CAGE (05259) Part Number 657E001, Revision Latest, within 120 calendar days of contract award.
  • Location: To be arranged with the buyer.
  • Marking: Shipping container must be marked "FOR FIRST ARTICLE TESTING. NOT RFI MATERIAL. DO NOT TAKE UP IN STOCK CONTRACT NUMBER:____________".
  • Tests: Dimensional test, compliance with drawing 657E001, form, fit, function, 100% production leak test (including 18-inch flat drop test), visual and dimensional inspection, initial and final leak tests.
  • Cost: Estimated $10,000 for government testing, added to offeror's price.
  • Waiver: Offerors may request a waiver of FAT requirements if they have previously furnished identical production articles accepted by the Government or OEM within three years, using the same production location, facilities, processes, and approved subcontractors. Two prices (with and without waiver) should be submitted.
