Testing & Quality Assurance
- First Article Testing (FAT): Required per FAR 52.290-4. Specific samples (including a 30x30 inch bonded tile, various smaller samples for compressibility, tensile, DMA, and a final tile) must be submitted to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Atten: Code 332, Philadelphia, PA.
- Production Lot Testing (PLT): Required per Local NAVSUP clause WWSTERMEZ02. Similar sample requirements as FAT, also submitted to Carderock Division for destructive testing. PLT approval is mandatory before shipment.
- Inspection System: Contractors must maintain an inspection/quality system acceptable to the Government, in accordance with MIL-I-45208 or ISO 9001/9002.
