Statement of Work (SOW)

To install two Osprey nesting platforms on existing power poles within National Park Service-managed lands in Acadia National Park to support wildlife conservation and provide safe nesting sites for Ospreys.

• Provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision.

• Bond and ground existing power supply lines, coordinating with the National Park Service for generator power.

• Assess the structural integrity of two designated existing power poles for platform installation.

• Fabricate and install two Osprey nesting platforms designed by the contractor and approved by the contracting officer.

• Affix structures above existing lines on the same utility poles.

• Remove and save existing nesting materials for relocation to new platforms.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental protection standards, and utility coordination requirements.

• Power outages are limited to a maximum of 4 consecutive working days.

• Two poles located in the Schoodic District, Winter Harbor, Maine.

• Pole #1 (Coordinates: 44.357320, -68069560): Access via Frazer Creek entrance. Vehicular access for the first 1000 feet, with UTV/ATV permissible with approval. Cross arms need evaluation.

• Pole #2 (Coordinates: 44340947, -68056429): Vehicular access to Ranger Cabin Road, then UTV to the line. Walk-in possible from Schoodic Loop Road. This pole has an existing nest to be relocated.

• Two fully installed and secure Osprey nesting platforms.

• Final installation report with photos, installation date, and issues encountered.

• Documentation of coordination with utility providers.

• Start Date: March 1, 2026

• Completion Date: April 4, 2026

• Power via generator.

• All tools, equipment, materials, transportation, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Comply with OSHA safety standards.
