Scope of Work
The Government is seeking an ATF system with specific technical characteristics, including:
- Two symmetrical simulated ears with representative pinnae, conchae, and ear canals, and two instrumented ear canal couplers.
- Anthropometrically representative overall dimensions (bitragion width 13-18 cm, head height 12-15 cm).
- Ear canal couplers compliant with ANSI/ASA S3.25 and ANSI S12.42, with specific length and diameter.
- Flexible pinnae, flexible circumaural bases, and resilient ear canal lining.
- Flesh simulations with a Shore 00 durometer reading between 30 and 60 at 37 ± 2 ºC.
- Circumaural material between 5-8 mm thick and greater than 120 mm in diameter.
- Ability to maintain a temperature of 37 ± 2 ºC during testing.
- Low noise ear simulator system with ½ inch low noise microphone coupler, dynamic range 10.5 dB(A) to 113 dB.
- Power Module designed for Low-noise Systems.
- Minimum self-insertion loss of 60 dB from 80 Hz to 12.5 kHz.
