Quick Summary
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), under the Department of the Treasury, is soliciting proposals for one Additive Manufacturing System. This procurement aims to acquire a modern industrial-grade system to replace an obsolete unit, supporting the design and fabrication of prototype and production components for currency manufacturing. The system must be compatible with 230VAC, 30Amp electrical configuration and include an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Required deliverables also include a water-based support removal cleaning station, two days of software training, two days of operating training at the BEP facility, product manuals, a service and maintenance schedule, and a spare parts listing in MS-Excel format.
Key Technical Requirements
- Build Envelope: Minimum 400 x 350 x 400 mm.
- Dimensional Accuracy: Maximum ±0.25 mm.
- Material Strength: Minimum 30 MPa tensile strength (ASTM D638) and 50 J/m impact strength (ASTM D256).
- Software Compatibility: Must print from STL, VRML, .3mf, and .amf file types.
- Electrical: 230VAC, 30Amp, with UPS.
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Requirements
