Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
The government is conducting market research to identify potential sources to meet a modification capability for modified ATAGS CSU-22/P (NSN 8475-01-695-4636, 8475-01-695-4640, and 8475-01-695-4644) assemblies (trousers and bladder assembly - Table 1) and Legacy G-Suit CSU13 B/P NSN 8475-00-545-8204, 8475-00-550-7394, and 8475-00-545-8248 assemblies Currently, ROUS has identified obsolescence challenges associated with the Synergy Nomex material. If supplier is unable to find innovative alternative material or source of material to mitigate obsolescence challenges, then the suit will continue to have production disruptions, reduced life extension, increased costs, and readiness issues.
The proposed acquisition strategy is a one-time buy in fiscal year 2026. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 541380. This Market Research is requesting responses to the following criteria from businesses that can provide the required services under the NAICS Code.
The proposed solution to the issue is to have an approved alternative material to produce the modified ATAGS. Elevate Textiles’ W5955 fabric is going through testing to be used as this alternative material. The material will be tested in accordance with (IAW) several Advancing Standards Transforming Markets (ASTM) International and American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) testing methods.
There are no samples available for potential suppliers to evaluate. If necessary, potential contractors shall furnish all material, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services needed to fill this order. The contractor is responsible for providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractor’s facility.
Perform all requested material testing on Elevate Textiles W5955 fabric.
Setup: The contractor shall procure the necessary quantity of 5-10 yards of Elevate Textiles W5955 fabric to perform the testing. The contractor shall provide a Test Report (CDRL deliverable) which details the results of all material testing performed to verify that the Elevate Textiles W5955 fabric is an acceptable alternative material for the modified ATAGS.
Please refer to the table on page 5 of the attached RFI for the list of all tests that the Contractor is required to complete. All test results must be sent to AFLCMC/ROU.
