Quick Summary

The Department of the Air Force (AFLCMC/ESAN) is conducting a Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for the acquisition, repair, and replacement of runway and airfield lighting systems at Beni Suef Air Base (AB), Egypt. This market research aims to improve night and low-light operational capabilities. Responses are due by March 6, 2026.

Scope of Work

The effort involves replacing existing airfield lighting systems on runways 36R/18L and 05/23, associated ramps, and taxiways. All parts and materials must be provided by Youyang Airfield Lighting Equipment, Inc. Key tasks include:

  • Alternate Runway (36L/18R): Repair damaged handholds and adjust red runway end lights.
  • Taxiway & Apron Lighting: Replace all halogen taxiway lights at 32 shelters and six taxiways, replace apron lighting, provide identification signage, and ensure proper drainage.
  • Electrical Systems: Replace Constant Current Regulators (CCRs), provide climate control for CCR room, replace Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), connect secondary generator, and install phones in CCR/generator rooms.
  • Control Systems: Update the Airfield Lighting Control & Monitoring System (ALCMS) with a new map, replace tower control system and cabling, and replace CCR control panels.
  • Support: Provide maintainer and operator training, two years of spare parts and consumables, and all required commissioning activities.
