Quick Summary
The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA) intends to award a firm-fixed price sole-source contract to MEDTEC BIOLAB, INC. for an Air-liquid Interface (ALI) exposure system with installation, training, and a one-year warranty. This system is required by the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This is a Notice of Intent under FAR 12.102 and 41 U.S.C. 1901, not a request for competitive quotes. Interested parties must submit capability statements by May 28, 2026, to demonstrate their ability to meet the minimal essential characteristics.
Scope of Work
USAMRICD requires a high-performance ALI exposure system to provide a controlled environmental chamber with aerosol exposure capabilities (gas, vapor, particulate, mixed aerosols) for human ALI models. The system must include:
- ALI Exposure Chamber: Controls airborne test articles, replicates mammalian lung inhalation exposure, features a mini-incubator, operates under vacuum, modular design, electrostatic deposition, supports multi-well plates (6-24 samples), dynamic exposure platform, small footprint, and low maintenance.
- Associated Components: Airflow humidifier, airflow dryer, internal vacuum pump, digital in-line temperature/relative humidity sensor, mass flow controller, 24 nozzle module, Quartz Crystal Sensor/Microbalance, and software for real-time mass deposition evaluation.
- Services: Installation and training post-award, and a one-year warranty.
