Scope of Work
The requirement is for two types of cartridges used in various aircraft for fire suppression:
- CCU-125/A Fire Extinguisher Cartridge (MT20): Designed to release fire-extinguishing agent into aircraft engine and auxiliary power unit areas. It consists of an electric squib(s), a small caliber projectile, and a mounting device for remote activation.
- Fire Extinguisher Cartridge (TY60): Used to puncture a closure disk to dispense fire suppressant into engine nacelles and auxiliary power units of USAF UH-1N and US Army CH-47 series helicopters during emergencies.
Critical manufacturing skills include propellant manufacturing and casting, energetic material and/or explosive handling and loading, welding, machining, bridge wire and electrical circuitry, and shock wave propagation. Technical Data Packages (TDPs) are classified as Distribution C, limited to U.S. Government agencies and their U.S. Contractors Only.
