Quick Summary

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), PMA-265 EW Division is conducting a Sources Sought to identify potential sources capable of upgrading the ALR-67(V)3 Multi-Channel Analog-to-Digital (MCAD) Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). This effort addresses a critical Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issue due to the obsolescence of the original component. Responses are due by July 3, 2026.

Scope of Work

The requirement is for the design, fabrication, testing, and delivery of a Form, Fit, Function, and Interface (F3I) replacement for the original MCAD ASIC. This necessitates a full redesign as original documentation is unavailable. The upgraded ASIC must be equivalent to the existing Digital Countermeasures Encoder (DCE) configuration and maintain full compatibility with the current system. Key technical characteristics include:

  • Custom 352-pin Ball Grid Array (BGA)
  • 80-MHz, 22-channel, 7-bit Analog/Digital Converter with on-chip Digital-Analog Converter (DAC)
  • 2:1 switch per channel, 7-bit Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ADC per switch, calibration DACs, 10-bit DAC, clock distribution, calibration interface, and references.
  • Capable of taking 22-channel analog video inputs and outputting 22-channels of digital video at 80-MHz.
