Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force is conducting a Sources Sought to identify qualified firms for the AMARG Large Component Blast Booth project at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. This requirement involves the turn-key design, construction, and installation of a new corrosion control facility. While not currently anticipated as a small business set-aside, it will be considered if two or more qualified small businesses respond. Responses are due March 4, 2026.
Scope of Work
The objective is a complete turn-key design, construction, and installation of a new corrosion control facility at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG). This facility will primarily function for the corrosion control of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and other ferrous items. It will house a large media blast booth within a fully enclosed Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB), including a separate maintenance support operations area. The contractor will be responsible for all project aspects, from site investigation and design to providing labor, materials, and equipment for a fully functional facility. Key elements include:
- Site Investigation and Design Development: Comprehensive investigations including geotechnical, utility, environmental, and topographical surveys; development of a complete design package.
- Plastic Media Blast Booth: Furnish, install, and commission a complete, stand-alone system with a full floor media recovery system and dust collection.
- Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB): Design, furnish, and erect a permanent, weather-tight metal building to enclose the blast booth and maintenance area.
- Utilities and Site Work: Design and construct all supporting utility infrastructure, including electrical, water, sanitary sewer, and site work such as foundations, grading, drainage, and paving.
- Performance Standards: Prioritize Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions, implement a three-zone contamination control concept, maintain target HVAC temperatures (60-80°F), limit blast booth noise below 85 dBA, and include a complete fire protection system and a Grade D Breathing Air System.
