  • Material Certification: Quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis for parts like the Mast (Item 1), using QQ-N-286, Form 2, annealed and age-hardened to achieve a minimum yield strength of 85,000 PSI.
  • Extensive Testing: Required certifications for Hydrostatic Pressure Test, Ultrasonic Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection, and Annealing/Age Hardening. Slow Strain Rate Tensile Tests must be performed by approved laboratories.
  • Manufacturing Standards: Internal threads must be cut (no cold forming), and inspected per FED-STD-H28 series or ASME B1 series. Thread lubricants must not contain molybdenum disulfide; A-A-59004 is specified. Welding and brazing must adhere to S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278 and S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248, requiring prior approval of procedures and qualification data.
  • Quality Assurance: Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (amplified herein) and ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025. MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-45662 is an acceptable alternative. Government Quality Assurance at source is required.
  • Traceability: Strict traceability and certification requirements for Level I/SUBSAFE systems, including unique traceability numbers, material marking per MIL-STD-792, and comprehensive material certification reports (DI-MISC-81020).
  • Configuration Control: Contractor must maintain total equipment baseline configuration and submit waivers/deviations and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) via the Electronic Contractor Data Submission (ECDS) system.

No material is to be shipped prior to acceptance.
