Scope of Work
The contractor will provide comprehensive testing and inspection services for the High Voltage System at FCI Herlong. This includes:
- Testing and inspecting seventeen (17) Cutler Hammer Vacuum Circuit Breakers and the Cutler Hammer Unit Substation Transformer per manufacturer recommendations.
- Performing visual inspections on primary circuits and documenting load readings on primary transformers during peak load conditions.
- Adjusting protective devices (relay calibration by qualified agency/manufacturer representative).
- Arranging for electrical power downtime to perform maintenance, including tightening switchgear, transformer cable, bus connections, switchboards, switches, disconnects, automatic transfer switches, and generator cables.
- Cleaning switchgear, transformers, and panel enclosures.
- Manually exercising all switching operations.
- Inspecting transfer switches per NFPA 100 and NFPA 70B.
- Removing and properly disposing of all old existing equipment and materials from the institution property.
Work is to be performed Monday through Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., excluding Federal Holidays, at FCI Herlong, CA. The contractor is responsible for providing all parts, materials, and services, except for specific replacement parts for circuit breakers and the unit substation transformer, which FCI Herlong will purchase.
