Quick Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), under the Department of Commerce, has issued a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (RFQ) for an Arbitrary Waveform Generator. This procurement aims to acquire a critical piece of laboratory equipment for NIST's Materials Science and Engineering Division in Gaithersburg, MD, to support the development of standard reference materials. Quotations are due by April 13, 2026, at 4:00 PM ET.
Scope of Work
NIST requires one (1) new Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) to be integrated into its Absolute Magnetometer system. The AWG must meet specific minimum technical requirements, including a sampling rate of at least 6 GSa/s per channel, waveform memory depth of at least 4 Gpts, at least two analog output channels, a maximum output frequency of 2 GHz, and 16-bit vertical resolution. It must also include standard functions (sine, square, pulse, ramp), USB connectivity, and operate on 115 V/60 Hz power. Delivery is required no later than six (6) months after receipt of order (ARO) to Gaithersburg, MD, under FOB Destination terms. Two sets of manuals (hard copy or electronic) are also required.
Contract Details
This will result in a firm-fixed-price purchase order. The procurement is conducted under full and open competition with NAICS Code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) and a small business size standard of 1000 employees. A minimum one-year warranty covering materials, labor, and shipping is required. Payment will be made upon receipt of a proper invoice and successful demonstration of performance; advanced or partial payments are not authorized without prior approval.
