Quick Summary
The US Army Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), supported by ACC-APG, is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry feedback on proposed updates for MGUE Increment (Inc.) 2 to Inc. 1 backward compatibility. This RFI aims to ensure future MGUE Inc. 2 ground domain derivative products are compatible with existing MGUE Inc. 1 systems (e.g., BAE MPE-M, MicroGRAM-M, L3H TruTrak-M Type II). Responses are due by February 27, 2026.
Scope of Feedback
The Army PNT seeks comments on the feasibility and ability to implement proposed updates, which include:
- Changes to IS-GPS-153E: Adding data fields from the MGUE Inc. 1 Serial Interface Document (MSID)-001B.
- Redlines to CI-MGUE/GA-880B: Incorporating the Small Serial Interface (SSI) form factor from Appendix D of CI-MGUE/GE-850G as a basis for a Specification Change Notice (SCN). These updates will allow applying MSID-001B data input/output and SSI form factor to future MGUE Inc. 2 derivative products.
Accessing Documents & Submission
The proposed updates are export controlled (DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT D). Only verified Cleared Defense Contractors with an active Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code are eligible to receive the documents for review. The process involves:
- Providing required company information to the ACC contracting POC.
- PM PNT Security verifying company clearance in the DoD ISFD.
- PM PNT releasing a soft copy of the updates and a Comment Response Matrix (CRM).
- Companies reviewing documents and filling out the CRM.
- Submitting the CRM and accompanying files via DoD SAFE to Michael Dash (michael.dash.1.ctr@spaceforce.mil) by the deadline.
Required Company Information
Interested sources must provide one submission per CAGE code, including:
- Company Name, Mailing Address, Website
- CAGE Code, DUNS number
- Location of facility(s)
- Foreign ownership status (and MAAP account number if applicable)
- Point of Contact details (Name, Title, Company Responsibility, Telephone, Email)
Important Notes
This RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation (IFB, RFQ, RFP) or a commitment to any procurement action. Responses are voluntary, and the Government will not pay for any information received. No award will be made as a result of this RFI.
