Scope of Work
The requirement is for annual inspection, maintenance, and certification of approximately 255 portable fire extinguishers located at Fort Greely, Alaska. Services must comply with NFPA 10 and 29 CFR 1910.157 (OSHA standard). Extinguisher types include ABC, BC, CO2, PK, and K. Key tasks include:
- Annual visual inspections and tagging.
- 6-year recharges and 12-year hydrostatic tests for dry chemical extinguishers.
- Providing an annual inspection report within 14 days of completion.
Period & Place of Performance
The anticipated period of performance includes a Base Year (August 12, 2026 – August 11, 2027) and four (4) Option Years, extending through August 11, 2031. All work will be performed at ARTC facilities in and near Fort Greely, Alaska.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Contractor personnel must be qualified technicians, pass a State of Alaska Portable Extinguisher Exam, and obtain a Level 2 permit per NFPA 10. The contractor will be required to develop a Quality Control Plan (QCP), comply with installation access and security requirements, adhere to safety and environmental regulations, and provide key personnel including a Program/Contract Manager and a Portable Fire Extinguisher Testing Technician II.

The anticipated NAICS code is 811310 – Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $12.5 million.
