Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting a Sources Sought for ARTIQ Hardware to identify potential vendors and U.S. manufacturers. This is market research to determine the acquisition method and potential for a small business set-aside. Responses are due February 22, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
NIST seeks information from firms capable of providing ARTIQ Hardware as per attached specifications. This market research aims to identify eligible businesses, including small businesses, and U.S. manufacturers of the product. The results will inform NIST's decision on whether to conduct a competitive or non-competitive procurement, potentially as a small business set-aside if at least two qualified small businesses are identified.
Required Hardware
The requirement is for specific components of the ARTIQ Experimental Control System, detailed as a Bill of Materials (BOM). Key components include:
- EEM AC Power Module: 3 units (200W output, universal IEC input)
- Kasli: 5 units (Artiq Integrated card for coordination, real-time schedule execution, clock distribution)
- Kasli-SoC: 1 unit (Kasli with integrated CPU for faster control)
- DIO-SMA-TTL: 2 units (fast TTL I/O via SMA, at least 8 channels)
- DIO-RJ45-TTL: 1 unit (fast TTL I/O via RJ45, at least 4 channels)
- Urukul: 5 units (multi-channel DDS board for RF signals, at least 4 channels)
- Fastino: 2 units (multi-channel DAC board for analog voltages, at least 32 channels)
- Shuttler: 2 units (high-speed analog waveform engine, at least 16 channels)
- Shuttler-AFE: 2 units (digital to analog converter, at least 16 channels, 125 MSPS DAC)
- DAC Songbird: 1 unit (low-noise DAC board for analog tones, at least 2.5GS/s 16-bit)
- Rack mountable crate: 1 unit (to house EEM cards)
