Scope of Work
The work involves maintenance dredging of the AIWW channel between Onslow County and Brunswick County, North Carolina. This includes the removal of shoaled material to depths of 8-12 feet, plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth. Dredged material will be placed on approved ocean beaches and upland placement areas, which are confined with containment dikes and spillway systems. All dredging must be performed by hydraulic cutter suction dredge. Environmental windows for beach placement extend from November 16 to March 31 or April 30, depending on the location.
