Quick Summary
The 9th Contracting Squadron at Beale AFB, CA, is conducting a Sources Sought market research effort to identify interested and capable sources for the fabrication, delivery, and installation of replacement exterior shade canopies at the 9th Communications Squadron atrium. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside (FAR 19.5). Responses are due by May 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM PST.
Scope of Work
The requirement involves replacing existing atrium shade canopies that have exceeded their service life. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and professional services to remove existing canopies and install new ones. This includes fabrication, delivery, installation, and any necessary hardware replacement. Work must comply with applicable codes, Air Force standards, and Beale AFB requirements.
Technical Requirements
This effort requires the removal and replacement of five (5) exterior shade canopies, each approximately 30 ft x 30 ft. Canopies must be fabricated from commercial-grade, fire-resistant shade cloth available in multiple colors (red, blue, yellow). The contractor is responsible for precise measurements and ensuring structural integrity, utilizing existing cables and hardware while replacing components as needed. All work must adhere to UFC, AFOSH, NFPA, OSHA, CBC, and Beale AFB supplemental requirements. Installation and site cleanup are expected to occur on the same day, Monday-Friday, 0730–1630, at 6252 B St. Bldg. 2445, Beale AFB, CA 95903.
Response Information Requested
Interested vendors should submit company information (Name, Address, CAGE, UEI, POC), business size, and socio-economic status (e.g., Small Business, HUBZone, 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB). A capabilities statement detailing experience in fabricating and installing commercial-grade tensioned fabric structures, ability to operate in an active operational environment, and compliance with cited standards is required. Vendors should also provide a high-level Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) for the total project cost and feedback on the proposed NAICS code 337920 (Blind and Shade Manufacturing).
Submission Instructions
Submissions, including any suggestions or questions, must be sent via email to Katherine Moe (katherine.moe@us.af.mil) and Lamar Mullins (lamar.mullins@us.af.mil). Base access requires an entry authorization list (EAL) and two forms of identification; contractor vehicles are subject to inspection at the Wheatland Gate. Delivery coordination is required two weeks prior to anticipated delivery.
