Qualification Details

Fit reasons
  • NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
  • Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
  • Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
  • Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps

Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.

Quick Summary

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is sponsoring a Proposers Day webcast for the anticipated Automated Discovery for Design and Control of Turbulent Systems (AutoDIDACTS) program. This event aims to inform potential proposers about the program's objectives and encourage teaming. The webcast is scheduled for April 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Advance registration is mandatory and closes on March 18, 2026.

Program Objective and Description

The AutoDIDACTS program seeks to develop and validate novel approaches for rapid design exploration and innovation in aeronautical design and turbulence control. The core objective is to leverage data-informed discovery to identify universal and predictive macroscale principles for designing and controlling turbulent systems, ensuring high predictive accuracy and generalizability across various regimes relevant to the Department of War.

Key Activities and Requirements

Successful teams will require expertise in:

  • Experimental simulation of turbulent flow.
  • Data-informed discovery techniques.
  • Design and development for challenge problems. Validation will involve performer-defined benchmarks and comparisons with CFD computations and wind-tunnel measurements. Potential challenge problems include high-endurance MAV design, adaptive control, supersonic optimization, and resilient optical communications.

Teaming and Participation

DARPA actively encourages teaming and will facilitate connections through an Attendee List, a Proposer Profile List, and Lightning Talks (5-minute presentations). Individual meetings with the Program Manager are available upon request. A separate session with the DARPA Contracts Management Office will cover proposal submission, contracting, and pricing.

Registration and Eligibility

  • Advance registration is required via the provided website: https://events.sa-meetings.com/AutoDIDACTSProposersDay.
  • Registration closes on March 18, 2026, or when capacity is reached.
  • The event is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and foreign nationals. Specific forms (DARPA Form 60 or Official Visit Request) are required for non-U.S. citizens.

Important Notes

This is a Special Notice for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. No submissions will be accepted against this notice, except for one-page teaming profiles and Lightning Talk materials. DARPA will not reimburse costs incurred for participation, and webcast recording is prohibited.
