Quick Summary

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), under the Department of Commerce, has issued a Solicitation for AUV Support Services (Data Collection). This opportunity seeks non-personal services for Autonomous Benthic Imaging Systems (AUVs) to collect optical data crucial for the Atlantic sea scallop stock assessment. All services must adhere to Attachment 1 - Statement of Work dated 04/14/2026. Key requirements from the SOW include conducting optical surveys, deploying and recovering AUVs, and providing all necessary plant, labor, equipment, and supervision. Contractors must utilize a Tethys-class Long Range AUV (LRAUV) integrated with the NEFSC's Autonomous Benthic Imaging System (ABIS), capable of independent navigation, maintaining stable distance from the seabed, operating up to 200m depth, and possessing emergency behaviors. Demonstrated experience with AUV Atlantic sea scallop surveys in the Northeast U.S. Continental Shelf and knowledge of NEFSC AUV-scallop survey efforts are essential.
