Sources Sought Synopsis

This sources sought synopsis is being conducted to identify potential sources with the expertise, capabilities, and experience to perform in-depth component analysis of B-52H Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). The goal is to improve supportability, address material availability constraints, and mitigate obsolescence risks. Participation in this survey is for planning purposes and does not guarantee future solicitation or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses.

• Perform in-depth technical assessments of specified LRUs (listed in Table 1).

• Develop solutions for material availability challenges, including Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS).

• Develop long-term sourcing strategies.

• Create data analysis based on engineering evaluations.

• Address obsolete component issues/risks and mitigation steps.

• Develop a Technical Report-Study documenting weapon system configuration, system overview, findings, and recommendations for obsolescence mitigation and potential production line shutdowns.

• For the Generator/CSD, perform Qualification/Endurance testing (at least 1,500 hours, with 25% in extreme temperatures), followed by teardown and failure analysis.

• Provide failure analysis and short/long-term corrective action recommendations for failed units transferred by the Government.

• Recommend improvements to existing designs and redesign options.

• Interested parties should provide documentation supporting their company's capabilities.

• If lacking experience in a specific area, explain how the lack will be overcome (e.g., teaming, subcontracting).
