Quick Summary
The US Geological Survey (USGS), under the Department of the Interior, has issued a Notice of Intent (NOI) to award a single-source purchase order to AIRIE LLC for sulfide analysis. This notice is to satisfy Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.2 requirements. While the intent is to award to a single source, other responsible parties may submit quotations for consideration. The response deadline is May 12, 2026, at 0800 hrs PDT.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for high-quality 187Re/187Os analyses of sulfide minerals in mineralized rocks collected by the USGS Alaska Science Center. The results will support various research studies and be made public. The contractor will conduct geochronology on approximately 32 samples (molybdenite, pyrrhotite, or arsenopyrite-bearing mineralization), including sample evaluation, preparation, analysis, and providing full electronic reports with data and interpretation. The contractor must have strong expertise in 187Re/187Os geochronology, particularly in the specified minerals, and operate a laboratory known for high-quality work using state-of-the-art Triton thermal ionization mass spectrometers and a mixed Re-double Os spike. The senior researcher/director must be an ore geologist with advanced degrees and expertise in ore systems and geochronology.
